Glass Globe Small With Cardinal

The cardinal is associated with many myths and traditions surrounding renewal, good health, happy relationships, monogamy and protection, just to name a few. This boldly colored cardinal is on the forest floor scavenging through the wood chips, but always alert. The artisans added gold flecks for added detail and shine.

Construction:
The glass used in this globe is hand-blown and will have both texture on the outside and a few bubbles within the glass itself. The base is a wood composite, hand-painted piece which gives it a similar finish as a birch tree.

Eco-Friendly:
We are a founding member of the Sustainable Furnishings Council; a coalition of manufacturers, retailers, and designers dedicated to raising awareness and expanding the adoption of environmentally sustainable practices across the home furnishings industry.

Our products are manufactured using materials that are sustainably harvested, non-toxic dyes, and water-based finishes.

Capiz is an oyster shell and the primary purpose of the oyster is as a source of food. However, the by-product, the shell, can be used for decoration. Due to it being a natural material, the natural colors of the capiz come through as tans and browns underneath the paint.

Fair-Trade:
We view ourselves as partners with our manufacturers and continuously exchange ideas on how to improve production, product quality, and the health and well-being of the artisans that work to create the products we sell. We visit our manufacturers on a regular basis to ensure that our core mission is being followed.

Our products are produced in the Philippines, a country that is fast growing, and progressive on ensuring workers' rights. It is also a country where many companies are run by women and their entrepreneurial efforts are encouraged.

The artisans who make our pieces are paid a living wage, provided quality housing, have access to continuing education, and work under dignified and safe conditions.
